David Polyansky

David Polyansky is a strategist and communications counselor with professional experience in the political, public affairs, professional and collegiate sports, entertainment, and legal sectors. Over the course of his career, he has been known for taking on the toughest of challenges and helping many of his clients defy great odds.


David is currently the Chief Strategy Officer for Axiom Strategies and AxAdvocacy where he helps high-profile clients improve their overall brand position, rapidly and effectively respond to timely communications challenges, and strategically navigate the always-evolving political landscape.

Prior to joining Axiom and AxAdvocacy, David served as Chief of Staff to Senator Cruz where he helped guide an office representing over 28 million Texans through numerous pivotal moments, including influencing several major components of the historic “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act” of 2017, helping guide the rescue and recovery efforts of Hurricane Harvey across the entirety of the Texas Gulf Coast, and passage of several Cruz-sponsored bills. 


David has served in a senior capacity to five Republican presidential campaigns, including as a senior adviser to Scott Walker’s 2016 presidential campaign, later joining Senator Cruz’s presidential campaign as a senior adviser for politics and communications, and most recently as Deputy Campaign Manager for Governor Ron DeSantis’ 2024 effort.


In 2015 David was awarded “Strategist of the Year” honors by the American Association of Political Consultants (“AAPC”) for his work as senior strategist to Joni Ernst’s historic victory where she became the 51st Republican senator in the new Republican majority and the first woman to represent the state of Iowa in Congress. The same election cycle he helped Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin earn her own historic re-election.


A six-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps in 2004 David took a sabbatical from his legal career to join Texas’ 1st Battalion, 23rd Marines for duty in Al Anbar Province, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.



David is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center and was previously a practicing commercial litigator in Texas. Today, he resides in Houston, Texas with his wife, Kirsten, and two children.
